Rural sites
Properties along the Salmo River and up toward Ymir are often rural, with private wells and septic fields. Digging near them needs a careful plan so nothing gets damaged. We work around septic systems; we don't design or install them.
Driveways on these lots take a beating from snowmelt and logging-road-style grades, so ditching and culverts are common requests.
Permits
Building permits in Salmo and Ymir go through the Regional District of Central Kootenay. Decks more than 2 ft above grade and walls holding back more than 5 ft of soil need one.
